Winter Talks – An Eighteenth Century North Berwick Love story, Thursday 20 February 2025

An Eighteenth Century North Berwick Love Story.
A Talk by Sir Hew Dalrymple

February is the month for sending and/or hoping for a Valentine, so it’s appropriate that our talk on Thursday 20 February should charm us with An Eighteenth Century North Berwick Love Story.

Sir Hew Dalrymple shares his chance discovery of love letters sent by his 18th century ancestor, London MP Sir Hew, to his wife Margaret in North Berwick. Sir Hew offers a view into a very different world which is still relatable to us today. Sir Hew’s talk will commence at 7.30pm in the Chapel area, St Andrew Blackadder Church, St Andrew Street, North Berwick, and is open to all. Entry is free for Members of the Coastal Communities Museum, and by £5 donation for Non-Members.

The talk will be followed by some light refreshments. Parking available.
