BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Board was first constituted in July 2012, but the actual trustees have changed and will continue to change going into the future.
The Board can have between 8 and 14 trustees, all of whom automatically become Members of the Coastal Communities Museum. All Trustees are volunteers, although the Board does have an employee of East Lothian Council as an Advisor who is the Team Manager – East Lothian Council Museums Service.
Some of the Trustees are elected by the Members (as members of our charity). They are appointed for a period of three years. Thereafter if they are willing to carry on, they can re-join the Board for another three years, but they must be re-elected by the Membership.
The Board operate as a strategic body on behalf of the museum, managing the various operational tasks involved in running and acting in the best interests of the museum at all times. They hold formal Board Meetings six times per year and in addition, Board Members attend an annual Planning Day.
