We operate as a registered charity, Coastal Communities Museum Trust or CCMT for short. At present we do not employ anyone, so we rely entirely on a volunteer team, which is sub-divided into different roles.
CCMT must raise funds to survive, devise new and exciting exhibitions, maintain an open dialogue with the local community, staff and manage the museum throughout most of the year. This can only be achieved with support from volunteers working with visitors and also behind the scenes. Each role is crucial to the success of the museum and the exhibition of the moment.
CCM Volunteers are a friendly, committed team with a wide range of interests. No historic expertise is necessary, just enthusiasm! Each volunteer is given induction training and then further time to settle in to their particular role.
The more volunteers we have, the more we can hope to achieve, but critically everyone should enjoy the experience along the way.
