0:11 Thank you.

0:13 I’m Tom Brock, chief executive of the

0:16 Scottish Seabird Centre and we’re

0:18 extremely excited because in two days

0:20 time we are about to host a visit from

0:23 the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh who

0:25 are coming to North Berwick the first

0:27 visit by a reigning monarch to North

0:29 Berwick since 1902 and it’s a tremendous

0:32 accolade for the Seabird Centre for

0:36 everybody that’s connected with the

0:37 centre in terms of our staff, our

0:39 volunteers and the whole community of North

0:42 Berwick that supported the centre to its

0:45 current level of success.

0:47 It’s now July the 2nd, the great day.

3:29 One of the successes of the Seabird Centre....

3:48 [Music]

3:50 While the Queen is being guided around

3:53 one part of the Seabird Centre, the Duke follows another route.

3:57 Some of the spectators had worn

4:00 significant items of clothing hoping to

4:03 catch the Duke's attention.

4:05 [Music]

4:14 Here he talks to the captain of the Lifeboat crew.

4:24 Thank you.

4:36 And now he’s talking to the lady who

4:39 sculpted the bronze penguins. Though the Duke

4:42 comments they are the only penguins around here.

4:52 [Music]

4:57 He recognised the Royal Navy tie so

5:00 we had a little discussion about the

5:02 senior service.

5:06 The crowds are now waiting for the

5:09 Queen to come and unveil a plaque and present the Award for Enterprise.

6:07 Your Majesty, what you have just seen

6:11 is a product of a huge amount of support

6:14 from the community.

6:16 Thank you for gracing us with your

6:19 presence here today, it’s over a hundred

6:22 years since a reigning monarch

6:25 visited this Royal Borough. All of us

6:28 present here today will leave with a

6:31 sense of history and feeling very

6:34 privileged to have enjoyed this.

6:37 I would therefore invite her Majesty to

6:40 unveil a plaque to commemorate this

6:43 unique and enjoyable occasion.

6:47 Thank you.

6:49 [Applause]

6:55 Your Majesty, it was announced that the

6:59 Queen’s award for Enterprise has been

7:02 awarded to the Scottish Seabird Centre.

7:04 We are honoured now Your Majesty to invite you

7:07 to present the award to the chairman of

7:09 the Seabird Centre, Admiral Neil Rankin.

7:27 Your Majesty, in receiving this award of

7:31 course I do so on behalf of so many

7:33 people who have worked so hard to

7:36 achieve this recognition thank you very

7:38 much.

8:24 [Applause]

8:29 [Music]

8:52 I gave the Queen some flowers and

8:55 I was really nervous but she was really

8:57 friendly she said thank you very much

8:59 and that, she were lovely.

9:02 I’m the member of the Scottish

9:04 Parliament for East Lothian and for

9:06 North Berwick and I think this has been

9:08 a great day for North Berwick and the

9:10 Seabird Centre, particularly the Seabird

9:13 Centre, it goes from strength to strength

9:14 so having the Queen come and visit I

9:18 think it's just another milestone in the

9:19 success of the Seabird Centre but a

9:21 fabulous day and fabulous crowds.

9:28 It’s my responsibility to ensure that

9:31 the arrangements for any royal visit to

9:34 East Lothian go well and this has

9:36 been a great success.

9:38 Well, what a fantastic visit everything

9:40 has gone perfectly, the sun shone and

9:42 everybody has enjoyed it, a fantastic

9:44 day for North Berwick, one for the

9:46 history books.

9:48 During their Majesties tour, there are

9:51 many special hats being worn.

9:53 This is an opportunity to see the hats

9:56 again.
